The Ark Stands With Israel

October 10, 2023

Today, we reach out to our community, carrying a profound sense of grief and concern shared by Jewish communities worldwide. The atrocities in Israel, unfolding during the final days of Sukkot and our celebration of the Torah, have left us in a state of shock and devastation. The Ark stands in unwavering solidarity with Israel and our community members affected by this tragedy.

The Ark is here with dedicated, professional case managers and staff, available to each of our clients for all their needs as they process these harrowing events and seek to meet their everyday challenges. Our team is available to support those individuals and families you may wish to refer for social service needs and for communal support.

The Ark was founded on the principle that gemilut hasadim, acts of loving kindness, make the world a better place and bring us together as an inclusive spiritual community. We have a deep tradition of supporting our fellow Jews during times of personal challenge and comforting each other when enduring loss. As we struggle to find ways to make a difference for our brothers and sisters in Israel, we and the supporters of The Ark are collectively committed to amplifying acts of chesed through our work in Chicago, hoping to extend a positive impact on our fellow Jews across the world.

In the days ahead, our prayers will be for the people of Israel. May peace come speedily to Israel and all its people.

B’Shalom,

Marna Goldwin, CEO
