Case Management & Social Services
The Anna and Jacob Fine Social Services Center matches clients with experienced case managers who create individualized plans using The Ark’s wide array of free services.
Comprehensive Intake Process
Each client’s introduction to The Ark begins with an intake interview to determine client circumstances and screen for emergency situations that require immediate assistance. Clients then meet with a case manager for a personalized approach.
Case managers are the main point of contact for each client. The case manager creates an individualized care plan, and arranges for each client to receive appropriate assistance from The Ark’s array of free wraparound services, as well as government and community resources.
The Ark’s certified staff financial counselor teaches clients healthy financial skills, including debt management, budgeting, and responsible spending. Direct financial assistance is also available.
The Ark partners with Chicago Volunteer Legal Services (CVLS) to provide legal services to select clients who meet CVLS guidelines. Services may include wills, guardianship, and bankruptcy.
The Ark is fortunate to have a psychiatrist on staff for adults 18+. Other mental health professionals are also available.
Throughout the pandemic, professionals serving clients at The Ark witnessed the resilience and adaptability of our clients. We have learned that connecting by telephone or a video call can be a meaningful interaction when meeting in person is difficult or unrealistic. Caring Caller volunteers are trained and experienced in providing emotional support for individuals who would enjoy hearing a friendly voice.
After speaking with our intake coordinator, each client is matched with a case manager. The case manager and the client work together to create a comprehensive and compassionate care plan. The Ark’s case managers are in ongoing communication with all clients to ensure all needs are being met, whether within The Ark or referring to other community organizations.
