The Ark is Hiring: Jewish Day School-Based Social Worker

The partnership between The Ark, a Jewish, iconic multi-faceted, community funded social service agency together with REACH, a nonprofit organization focused on providing services to Jewish day school children, has resulted in a dynamic program to ensure students with unmet mental health needs and their families can receive proper services.

A generous donation through The Hartman Fund for Children and Families allows The Ark to assist families and schools by providing psychotherapy to children in Chicago’s Jewish Day School system. The Ark and REACH in partnership are seeking a full-time school-based social worker through a grant from the Jewish United Fund of Metropolitan Chicago. The candidate will be an accomplished, innovative, and engaging licensed mental health professional, experienced in working with school age children (grade/high schools).

The chosen candidate will have a presence at four schools in our community currently without onsite mental health staff, and will provide mental health evaluations for children referred through REACH’s referral process. This qualified social worker may provide short-term therapy and will determine if receiving further services through The Ark’s Child & Family Wellness program is the next step.
