Housing Coordinator

For over 50 years, The Ark has been the only organization to provide free, comprehensive human services to Chicagoland’s diverse Jewish community. We are excited to expand the much-needed Ark Housing Program and are seeking a Housing Coordinator. This position will have multiple responsibilities and be a main source of current and relative information for case managers to share with their clients. The ideal individual will have exceptional aptitude for detail, organization, and prioritization, in combination with sensitive and insightful interpersonal skill and technical proficiency. This individual will report directly to the Housing Program Manager.

Primary Function and Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as resource for case managers, collecting/maintaining lists of affordable housing options 
  • Maintain/collect up-to-date, accurate information, including housing options for clients, and develop relationships, partnerships, and supportive external resources 
  • Connect clients with all available support for housing stability 
  • Assist staff in understanding policies/procedures for access to Housing Program guidelines, client eligibility criteria, tools, and resources  
  • Provide intensive client case management using services provided through the Housing Program 
  • Collaborate with staff for the purpose of maximizing successful outcomes 
  • Maintain in-depth understanding and use of internal database systems 
  • Active in participating with ongoing professional development and training 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) with minimum of 3 years experience in social work, psychology, and/or counseling services  
  • Effective communicator able to explain/clarify concepts to broad spectrum of individuals 
  • Strong aptitude for detail, organization, and prioritization 
  • Excellent record keeping and able to effectively collaborate with team of diverse social workers 
  • Familiar with Jewish customs and lifestyles 

Salary & Comprehensive Benefits Overview   

  • Pay Range: $55-60,000 annually
  • Employment Type: full-time position with benefits
