In 2019, thousands of Chicagoland Jews faced tough times and reached to The ARK for help in meeting the challenges of everyday life. By the end of the year, more than 4,500 clients had come to The ARK for access to health care, groceries, employment, transitional housing, and a wide array of social services. Nearly 200 individuals took part in our mental health daytime programming and our kosher food pantry supported more than 2,500 individuals living in Jewish households across the entire metropolitan area.
None of this would have been possible without our donors and volunteers. In 2019, contributions to The ARK covered everything from lulav and etrog at Sukkot to insulin in the pharmacy and eyeglasses in our optical clinic. Our volunteers gave over 18,000 hours of their time serving dinners, providing medical care, working in the food pantry and delivering healthy meals at the Jewish holidays and Thanksgiving.
In 2020, The ARK begins its 49th year of serving the community. We look forward to continuing to partner with you in “Kol Yisrael arevim zeh la-zeh. All Jews are responsible for one another” by bringing free care and support to Chicagoland Jews.
Thank you. We couldn’t do what we do without you!
