Please join The ARK in celebrating the beginning of our 48th year of service to the Chicagoland Jewish community at our Annual Meeting of Members on Monday, June 25, 2018, at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will take place at The ARK, 6450 N. California Ave., Chicago, IL 60645.
For the Board year 2018-2019, a total of 12 seats are to be filled. Of these, six community representatives are to be elected at the Annual Meeting, and six AFTA (Association for Torah Advancement) representatives are to be elected. All terms are for three years unless otherwise noted.
This announcement serves as official notice to members of The ARK of the individuals selected by the Nominating Committee to serve on the Board of Directors. The Nominating Committee, chaired by Irv Birnbaum, is composed of Glenn Garfinkel, Will Lennon, Allan Malmed, Linda Ring-Ash and Yitzchok Wengrow.

Additional community representatives may be added to the ballot. Any member may present additional nominees by submitting a petition, signed by at least twenty-five members, to the Secretary, c/o The ARK, 6450 N. California Ave., Chicago, IL 60645, at least fourteen days before the Annual Meeting.
Criteria for membership include either a donation of at least $50.00 or volunteer service on three separate occasions during the past year. Any nominee must also be a member in good standing. Other than those positions filled by AFTA, all nominees shall be candidates for Board vacancies.
Anyone wishing to submit additional nominees as outlined above should also submit a brief biographical sketch of the nominee. A statement of the nominee’s willingness to serve on the Board should be appended to the petition. Any seat not filled via election at the Annual Meeting may later be filled by the Board for a 1-year term.
NOTE: Any organization which has contributed $50.00 or more is entitled to send one representative to participate in the election.
